During my 7 years as an elementary classroom teacher, I discovered how to harness creative energy to impact instruction through meaningful integration of technology. I completed my Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology, earned National Board Certification and was selected as district Teacher of the Year in 2007.
Over the next several years, I worked as a curriculum designer, developing enrichment and remediation opportunities for K-5 students. In addition, I served as a facilitator of National Board support for teachers pursuing NBPTS. I have also worked as an Instructional Technology Facilitator in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District. In this role, I collaborated with teachers to create learning opportunities that incorporate innovative technology tools and strategies.
Most recently, I have been involved in researching, consulting and working with schools and classrooms on STEaM Integration (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) in the elementary setting. My primary focus is assisting districts, schools, classrooms, home schools, & after school programs to develop STEaM initiatives that build on their specific needs, curriculum and school improvement goals.
My vision is to inspire teachers to embrace technology and give students the opportunity to experience a transformation in the way they learn.
